Madhumita Sushil, PhD

Assistant Professor, Medicine

Madhumita Sushil is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical Informatics and Digital Transformation (DoC-IT) - Department of Medicine, and in Department of Neurological Surgery at UCSF. She has completed her PhD and MSc in Natural Language Processing from University of Antwerp, Belgium and Saarland University, Germany respectively. Prior to that, she holds a BTech degree in Computer Science and Engineering.

Research Overview:

Her research interest is to develop and validate foundation models to integrate diverse health-related data modalities within and outside electronic health records, use these models to improve the understanding of disease presentation and clinical trajectories, and to use these insights for improving the quality of healthcare for everyone and scaling it's access to diverse populations.
